About
Shelby Rodger
Shelby Rodger is an American writer and editor from New Hampshire. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film and theatre from Syracuse University in upstate New York, where she lived for five years. She's now based in London, where she recently completed her master's degree in writing from the University of Westminster. She loves to write both fiction and nonfiction, and has experience in magazine editing, journalism, social media marketing, and content writing.
As an editor, Shelby has worked across different mediums and genres — including fiction and nonfiction prose, poetry, short films, video editing, photography, and website editing. In 2024, she served as the Managing Editor for the Wells Street Journal, a biannual literary magazine run by postgraduate writing students at the University of Westminster. She is also the founder and editor of Coffee & Cigarettes, a digital magazine and newsletter featuring artist profiles and slice-of-life writing.
Shelby also holds a passion for visual storytelling through filmmaking and photography. She worked on many student film projects while studying at Syracuse, including several she wrote and directed. She was selected to participate in a Fulbright UK Summer Institute at the University of Birmingham in 2019 for a film and media module, and in 2020 she studied abroad at FAMU in Prague, one of the oldest film schools in the world.
